It's the weekend - we're taking it easy this morning as danae woke up with a vicious migraine :(

I discovered Dominate Radio this morning.. My first visit -- yes I admit that I'm likely behind the times, but I've been enjoying it a lot.. Good group of folks over this morning..

Past and Current
danae posted an entry last night.. I'm not sure I can add much more than what she said last night.. I don't want to repeat all of the reasons of late: "why" and "what not.." Suffice to say, we've been up and down in terms of being on a good sexual path and then not.. Work, family, chores, etc. etc. etc.... They pile up to a load of excuses and nothing more..

Today was hectic - so for a treat tonight I took us out to Coldstones -- our favorite ice cream shop..

We get back in the car and we're eating our ice cream.. I had parked the car underneath a very bright parking light.. I opened up the cover to the sunroof and the light illuminated the interior very well..

We started talking about little nothings - just idle chit chat.. I'm looking around the car and all of a sudden I transform...

"What??" danae asked.

Nothing like sitting in your underwear, sunshine, gentle breeze blowing by the office window and nothing but silence.. No TV, no radio and currently no pussies begging to be fed.. :)

But something struck Me this morning that My life changed dramatically about a year ago.. I've gone 6 years without a roommate or anyone staying for any real length of time.. I got used to that feeling alone - and I embraced that somehow.. So going from being completely alone to having someone living with you day in and day out is something that has taken awhile to get used to.. The last time anyone lived with Me this long was My ex-, and without delving into the specifics - wasn't a very good time in My life.. Aside from My roommates from college, I have always lived alone if I wasn't living with the folks..

It's not as though I feel that I'm feeling suffocated by danae's presense being here - as I truly treasure the time we can and do spend together.. I have no desire to be away from her when I'm not at work - or anything similar to that sort.. But I remember reading something a long time ago about how couples (vanilla and everyone) need to have that separation from one another; even if for an hour or so every few days.. I remember reading that it becomes almost like a meditation process..

Meditation..

Actually I can compare this morning's feeling as though I am in a meditative state.. I feel more in touch with My thoughts this morning - and that's a wonderful feeling.. Especially since the last few months have been spiraling out of control.. It's nice to be able to slow things down to the point where you can hear the hum of life, to be able to see the colors of nature a little more brilliant, to feel the slightest breeze pass over your body, to feel centered, complete, and aware..

Just taking a moment this morning..

I'm actually very happy tonight.. I have tomorrow off - and I'm spending some very needed quality time with My girl.. We're hopeful that it'll be a cooperative weather day so that we can leave town for awhile.. The last few months have taken their toll on the both of us - so we're headin' on out..

The last few weeks continue to put things into perspective for us.. We're so incredibly grateful to have such a strong, positive relationship.. We're nearing another anniversary.. One of importance for us -- we're celebrating her first year out here in Colorado in the coming days.. Just in looking back over the last year - what obstacles we had we overcame or we're still working on.. With medical issues, work issues, and just plain relationship issues - there's nothing we take for granted, which makes us better in the long run..

The types that are wound so tightly - you wonder when they're going to explode in some bizarre manner.. It's the type of people who not just take things on a literal basis that you wonder if they have any concept of thinking "outside of the box.." I'm not referring to any one person, but we were looking at one of the groups online and it's just bizarre seeing some of the crap people are choosing to argue over.. Granted, I'm not going to say it's wrong for someone to vent or protect their individual thought.. But when the highlight of one person's rant -- it really made Me wonder about our rants and raves in this medium..

Topeka, KS - High school sophomore Brett Tyson was suspended today after teachers learned he may be using PHP.
"A teacher overheard him say that he was using PHP, and as part of our Zero-Tolerance policy against drug use, he was immediately suspended. No questions asked," said Principal Clyde Thurlow. "We're not quite sure what PHP is, but we suspect it may be a derivative of PCP, or maybe a new designer drug like GHB."

But when we start discussing death and the lifestyle - it gets even deeper.. danae had found some comments and groups discussing the "ultimate what if" -- meaning, what happens to a M/s relationship when one of the partners dies?? No, I'm not trying ot tease fate or tempt it -- as much as it's facing serious issues that face all of us..

Editor's Note: (Normally this entry would've been placed in My SpoonsRant blog - but My life took a major dip this past Friday.. While I continue to struggle to fully understand what exactly happened, I'm distraught about how many people find faith in the government; faith in the media; faith in the structure we live behind.. Much of this won't make sense to many of you.. For those that do know what I do for a living - you can read it a lot better.. Everyone should take at least a moment when they read the latest news story, or the gossip that spreads across the web, our newspapers, our TVs and our radios.. Take a moment and think it through.. This is not a blog entry about liberals vs. conservatives - as much as it was an entry about how a man's life has been adversely affected by the government and the media..)

It's been a difficult and trying week.. Without a great deal of specifics, a hard fought project My office and I had - came to some closure late Friday afternoon.. The results were - less than positive.. 22 months of preparation, blood, sweat and tears - culminated in a very unfortunate result.. I'm tentative to discuss much of anything - due to the nature of My job.. Combining My typical words on here (i.e. bdsm, M/s, etc) with My profession would create an undesirable result.. I will say the following though:

1.) Anyone who believes in what the government says, needs to have their head examined or immediately confess that they have no sense of reality..
2.) Lies, deceit, and manipulations exist for everyone; regardless if you work for the government or not..
3.) The press is just as biased, manipulative, and otherwise irresponsible as some people in the government..
4.) Life is only fair to those who are interested in personal gain..

Again, I'm having to censor Myself a lot.. But I will add one more: we live in a society that is supposed to be moralistic and somehow predicated in its structure.. When there is wanton abuse of power - regardless of who it is, the end result adversely affects the masses and not just the individuals.. There's a point-counterpoint, almost chess like rendition of a waltz that happens every day, in every county, in almost every city - there are groups of people working on behalf of society.. With precision, they orchestrate a waltz-like dance to woo the masses.. Everyone signs on - because to defy the waltz means you're "not with us, you're with them.." We live in a society where structure is more important than the substance associated with it..

Moreover, when there is a foreseeable personal gain for these government officials it creates what I consider to be an unethical, immoral, and a self-gratification crusade when there are very valuable things on the line.. Their job is clouded by the fact that they have no sense of moralistic duty, to uphold the structure and subsequent responsibilities associated with it.. It then becomes a contest.. Wagered with real-life consequences, measured as though it were a popularity contest where egos, political standing, and (ahem) integrity are brought to the forefront.. When the goals of the government officials are predicated on their future personal gain - I find that they were not looking out for the best interests of the structure they uphold, as much as they sought to emblazen their names in history, for future book deals, and other tangible outlets down the road..

I realize I'm talking a lot in metaphor - with apologies, sorry..

But it doesn't end with the government.. The next group in line in My rant tonight is the press.. Everyone has been in a situation where something was taken out of context, or may not have happened altogether.. Imagine this type of mentality spilling over our radios, tvs, and newspapers.. Considering that there's an alleged "oath" of morality in unbiased reporting - which is ultimate bullshit.. Anyone who wishes to subscribe to that theory, please refer back to #1 up above, and return to your alternate reality where the daisies are always in full bloom and there's never a bad day.. Our media is constantly under the influential guise of politics just as much as our famed politicians.. The whole "scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" mentality runs rabid within the press.. How do you think they get all of their "leaks" and "sources??" You think they just magically appear because "the public has the right to know??" Think it through a little bit - open your eyes and at least consider it..

The press feeds on emotions.. They feed on the dynamics and hinge their bias on that which gives them the best possible position.. If they choose the wrong bias, there are immediate repercussions as the "leaks", "inside information", and "access" is denied, or curtailed.. In an industry where contacts are vitally important - they don't want to be left out in the cold.. Moreover, if there's any conservative or liberal bias in their editorials - then they will choose to align themselves accordingly when they draft their stories.. Don't believe Me?? Check out your next big round-up of editorial commentary coming from your LOCAL newspaper (not the syndicated columnists that they subscribe to..) Find out who they endorse for their elections, on issues, and why.. Once you figure that out - you can figure out what their possible association is.. Once you figure that out - then you can better understand the way they write their stories - and who they are appealing to the most..

In the end, I'm living in a world where the government and the press sleep in the same bed.. Whatever the government says, the media regurgitates and spits it back out.. They become the puppet to the government and that symbiotic relationship flourishes..

So My question of the day: "Can we adequately rely on the media to give us the complete story, or are we merely seeing what they want us to see??" If you honestly believe that the media gives us the complete story, then I'd like to ask you one more question: who do you want controlling what you see, what you hear, what you read: the government, or someone who has the courage to independently report on a specific event, story, or situation..

How far do you trust your media??

How far can you trust your government??

How far can you trust your government, knowing that the media has a personal bias in their writing??

How far can you trust your government knowing that a lot of people will gain benefit when you ultimately become the pawn in the chess match??

This week is about over - and not a moment too soon.. I'm very exhausted and looking forward to the weekend with danae.. she's been a very solid rock for Me during the last several months - and now that we're about able to move on (job wise) in the office, I'm hopeful that we'll be getting back to normal in some way..

I'm just glad that things are coming to a conclusion.. It's been a long time coming..

We've been caught up watching Mad Mad House.. *grins* Interesting little program.. Anyways, it's winding down now - but it started off with a group of like 8 people.. The "Alts" are alternative lifestyle people.. I won't bore a lot of details here - but suffice to say - it's an odd group.. Moreover, the "contestants" are all vying for $100k.. Yeah - another reality program.. And with a reality program with $100k at stake - you guessed it - there's a lot of backstabbing, aliances and other traditional ploys we see in these programs.. We started checking it out because we weren't sure exactly what form the alts were going to take.. It's been a fun program to watch, but I'm too tired to comment on it right now..

As Easter winds down - we had a really good day.. After getting the weekly Sunday paper - I made us breakfast.. We lounged for most of the morning - and danae hit the shower.. Afterwards we sat in bed and talked about things.. It really helped.. :) Leaving those specific details out - we got on the same page on a lot of things and that's a good thing..
